As the light turned green, the driver of the Ford began to enter the intersection as a 2012 Chevy Impala midsize car was headed east on the same road, being driven by Bell. The driver of the van allegedly failed to obey the red light and struck the Chevy with his vehicle. He was charged and Messaros towed both vehicles.
