A 22 year old man, Stephen W. Humphries of Nitro, WV, was killed and a 23 year old woman injuries in a crash that was allegedly caused by a driver’s failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead in Bloom, Wood, Ohio, on February 18, 2014 at approximately 1:49 am. Reports from the police are that 42 year old Kenneth W. Mossbarger of Tipp City, Ohio, was driving a 1989 Peterbilt truck and stopped in traffic because of a crash, north on Interstate Route 75. A 2014 Nissan Versa midsize car was being driven by Humphries, north on the same road and he allegedly failed to stop within an assured clear distance and struck the truck in the rear. Humphries was killed and his body transported by North Baltimore EMS to Wood County Morgue. The woman, who was an occupant of the car, Jessica R. King of Charlestown, WV, was transported by Bloomdale EMS to St. Vincent. Wright’s towed the car.
