A 46-year-old man, of Athens, Ohio, was charged following an accident that occurred in Alexander, Athens, Ohio, and resulted in injuries for two elderly women. 66 year old Linda L. Mouser of Haydenville, Ohio, who was the driver of a 2008 Ford Fusion compact car and 80 year old Joanne L. Mahaffey, who was an occupant, were both transported by Athens County EMS to Obleness Hospital. On December 23, 2013 at approximately 2:55 pm, police reported that the Ford was headed west on Federal Highway 50, while a 2006 Ford Taurus midsize car was being driven by the man, south on County Route 19. The man allegedly failed to yield the right of way and struck the Ford Fusion. The driver of the Taurus fled the scene. IBX towed the Ford Fusion.
