Traffic came to a halt on the evening commute on State Route 16 in Cass, Muskingum, Ohio, on October 2, 2013 at approximately 7:07 pm, following a crash that occurred and resulted in injuries for a three people. Reports from the OSHP are that a 65 year old man was driving a 1998 Ford Truck west on State Route 16 in the left turn lane to turn south on Township Route 706. An 18 year old man, James Lewis King of Columbus, Ohio, was driving a 1991 Geo Metro compact car east on State Route 16, when the driver of the truck made a left turn in front of the car. The driver of the car swerved to avoid a collision and it allegedly slid off the left side of the roadway and struck a sign. It overturned and rested upright. Three occupants of the car, Isiah D. Conant 16, Ashley N. McConnell 18 and Seth R. Schuyler 16, were injured and transported by Dresden EMS to Good Samaritan, while a fourth, Brook A. Humphrey 19, was not injured. The truck driver was charged. H & K towed the truck.
