Elderly Man Ran Red Light in Pike, OH, 20 Y-O Woman Injured

An elderly man, aged 72 years old, allegedly ran a red light in Waverly, Pike, Ohio, on October 6, 2013 at approximately 2:14 pm and caused injuries to a 20 year old woman, Linda S. Deer. Reports from the police are that the woman was driving a 2005 Honda CRV SUV east on West Emmitt Avenue in the right lane. She was approaching the intersection of North Market Street and had a green traffic light. The man was driving 2002 Ford Focus compact car a north on North Market Street and approached a red light at Emmitt Avenue. The elderly man proceeded into the intersection, while the light was still red. The woman entered the intersection and the CRV struck the car on the driver’s side. The woman was transported by Pike County EMS to Adena Pike, while the elderly man was charged. Two occupants of the vehicles, Brianna R. Brothaq 19 and Zella F. Bullion 75, were not injured.
