A 28 year old man, a 51 year old man and a 9 year old boy sustained injuries in a crash that occurred in Chester, Meigs, Ohio, on October 2, 2013 at approximately 7:35 pm. Reports from the police are that a 1993 GMC pickup was being driven by a 51 year old man, west on State Route 248. He allegedly drove left of the center of the roadway and struck a 2008 Jeep Wrangler SUV that was being driven by the 28 year old man, in the opposite direction. The man, Brandon J. Smith and the boy, who was an occupant of his vehicle, 9 year old Braxton J. Spencer were transported by MCEMS to Obleness Hospital. The driver of the pickup was also injured and transported by Healthnet EMS to CAMC. Ravine Service Center towed the pickup and 33 Auto towed the SUV.

Accidents, which occurred when it was dusk, were 1,635, which resulted in injuries. Chester, Meigs, Ohio, had a population of 2,332 and had a total of 5 injury crashes in 2011, which resulted in 6 injuries. Those crashes that involved pickups were 14,518 that caused injuries.
