A horrendous early morning crash which saw a minivan striking a pole, claimed the life of a 27 year old man and injuries to a 50 year old man in Liberty, Hardin, Ohio, on January 8, 2014, at approximately 8:10 am. According to police reports, a 26 year old man, Mark A. Schlachten of Ada, Ohio, was driving a 1999 Dodge Caravan minivan, west on County Route 20 and allegedly lost control on the snow and ice covered roadway. The minivan was driven off the right side of the roadway and struck a pole. The injured man, Kyle A. Conway was transported by Alger EMS to Lima Memorial, while the dead man, Darrin L. Conway was transported by Ada EMS to Chiles Laman Funeral Home.
