A 51-year-old woman of Nelsonville, Ohio, sustained injuries and was transported by Athens County EMS to Doctors of Nelsonville Hospital, following an accident that occurred in that city in Athens, Ohio on October 14, 2013 at approximately 12:53 pm. According to police reports, an elderly man, 68 year old Gregory Ferguson of Athens, Ohio, was driving a 2002 Ford compact car west on Canal Street. The 51 year old woman was driving a 1999 Pontiac compact car, east on the same street. Both vehicles had the green light while attempting to turn left on State Route 78. The driver of the Pontiac allegedly failed to yield to the oncoming Ford and they collided head-on.
