Pickup Strikes Rock, Catches Fire Killing 2 in Hardin, Ohio

A horrendous early morning crash which saw a pickup catching fire, claimed the lives of two men in Dudley, Hardin, Ohio, on October 8, 2013, at approximately 5:30 am. According to police reports, a 1996 Chevy Silverado pickup was being driven by 35 year old Michael R. Fay of Lima, Ohio, south on County Road 199. The driver then crossed over to County Road 200 and continued driving south on a private gravel drive. The pickup allegedly struck a watering trough and a large rock, ejecting the driver. The vehicle caught fire. Fay and an occupant, 26 year old Benjamin D. Fowler of Kenton, Ohio, were killed and their bodies transported by Felner’s Transport Services to Montgomery County Morgue. Osborn’s towed the vehicle.
