Elderly Woman Killed, 1 Injured in Meigs, Ohio SUV Crash

A SUV crashed and claimed the life of a 72 year old woman of Fairfax VA, while injuring a 31 year old woman in Salisbury, Meigs, Ohio, on September 7, 2013 at approximately 2:13 pm. According to reports from the police, the elderly woman, Julia Ann Stevens was driving a 2011 Chevy midsize car east from County Route 22, while the younger woman, Virginia E. Hunter was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer SUV north on State Route 7. The driver of the Chevy was allegedly struck by the SUV while it was crossing both lanes on State Route 7. The elderly woman was transported by Healthnet Helicopter to CAMC Charleston. Hunter was transported by Meigs County EMS to O’bleness Hospital. An occupant of the SUV, 31 year old Corey A. Putman was not injured.
