An accident, which caused fatal injuries for Michael E. Balzar, a 59-year-old man from Bryan, Ohio, occurred in Washington, Defiance, Ohio, on September 7, 2013 at approximately 4:15 in the evening. According to police reports, the man was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle, north on Federal Highway 127, when it went off the left side of the roadway. It allegedly struck a ditch and overturned. He was killed as a result. Life flight transported his body to Parkview.
