A motorist’s failure to maintain an assured clear distance was allegedly the cause of a crash that occurred in Milton, Mahoning, Ohio that resulted in injuries for a woman and a man, respectively. Police reports are that on October 4, 2013 at approximately 12:10 pm, a 47 year old woman, Vicki L. Ours of Mentor, Ohio, was driving a 2004 Pontiac SUV and stopped in the south lane on State Route 534. She was preparing to turn onto County Route 274. The 20 year old driver of a 2014 GMC pickup was headed south on State Route 534, when he allegedly failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead and struck the Pontiac in the rear. The pickup then went off the left side of the roadway and ended up in a private residence. The driver of the Pontiac and an occupant, Nicholas A. Ours 47, were transported by Lane EMS to St. Elizabeth. The youth was charged, Carl’s towed the Pontiac and John’s towed the pickup.
