SUVs Crash in Franklin, Ohio, Injures 2

Two SUVs, a 2002 Toyota Forerunner and a 2004 Chevy Silverado pickup crashed in Prairie, Franklin, Ohio and resulted in injuries for two of the three occupants. The 19 year old female driver of the 2002 Forerunner and a 62 year old female driver of the Chevy, Patricia L Delisser of Powell, Ohio, were both heading west on West Broad street, when the driver of the Chevy slowed down to stop for a red light. The Forerunner then struck the Chevy and caused injuries to its occupants. Police reports state that the young woman failed to maintain an assured cleared distance ahead. She received no injuries, but was charged.the Forerunner was towed by Top Quality towing. Delisser and her passenger, 72 year old Jimmie Howard, both sustained injuries and were treated at the scene by Springfield EMS.

SUVs that were involved in injury crashes were 22,889 in 2011 and 13,953 involved traffic signals. Accidents, which occurred when it was cloudy, were 18,575 which resulted in injuries. Those that involved pickup trucks were a total of 59,405. Approximately 10,525 injury crashes occurred when it was dark, on a lighted roadway. Accidents in which drivers failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead were 18,889 in 2011.
