Falling Debris Causes Crash in Erie, Ohio, Injures 65 Y-O Woman

Traffic halted on State Route 2 in Huron, Erie, Ohio, on May 14, 2013, at about 10:43 am, following a truck crash that occurred and resulted in injuries for a 65-year-old man of Elyria, Ohio. Police reports are that a 60 year old man, Steven Witt of Elyria, Ohio, was driving a 2010 Ford Eclipse SUV west on State Route 2 in the passing lane, while a 2004 Chevy C350 truck was being driven by a 55-year-old man, Ricky Bartlebagh of Sandusky, Ohio, west on the same road in the driving lane. The driver of the truck merged into the passing lane to pass slower-moving traffic when the wind blew the tarp off the bed of the truck. The debris allegedly landed in the road in front of the SUV and on the top. The injured man was taken by another driver to University Hospital. The driver of the truck was cited for not securing his load.
