Minivan Crashes in Stark, Ohio and Injures 67 Year Old Woman

A 67-year-old woman, Susan R. Smith of Akron, Ohio, sustained injuries in an accident that occurred on Cleveland Avenue in Lake, Stark, Ohio on April 20, 2013 at approximately 9:25 pm. Police reports are that a 65-year-old woman, Teryl A. Gilliland of Mogador, Ohio, was driving a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country minivan north on Cleveland Avenue in the left lane with a 2001 Volvo S60 midsize car that was being driven by a 20 year old man. The woman slowed the minivan behind a turning vehicle and the driver of the Volvo allegedly failed to stop at an assured clear distance. It collided with the rear of the minivan. The injured woman was an occupant of the minivan, who was treated at the scene by Greentown Fire Department. Two other occupants, Carter Barnes 11, of Mogadore, Ohio, and Ellie Gilliland 6 of Talmadge, Ohio were not injured.
