Residents of Rome, Ashtabula, Ohio, were present on the scene of a head on collision, in which a 70-year-old man, of Mentor, Ohio, sustained injuries on May 5, 2013 at approximately 10:50 am. Reports from the police are that the man, Gerald L. Stark was driving a 1992 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on State Route 45, approaching the intersection of Dodgeville Road. A 41 year old man, Timothy W. Herman of Beavercreek, Ohio driving a 2008 Land Rover SUV north on the same road. The motorcycle was facing south on State Route 45 and was stopped to wait for oncoming traffic to turn left on Dodgeville Road. In order to avoid striking the motor cycle, the driver of the SUV allegedly lost control, overturned onto its side and slid left of the center of the roadway. Both vehicles collided and the SUV slid off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and a drain pipe. Ducro Transportation Service transported the man’s body to AMC. An occupant of the SUV, Carla K. Skytta 33, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio was not injured. Midway towed the vehicle.
