On Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at approximately 3:30 am, an accident occurred on County Route 51 in Berne, Fairfield, Ohio, in which a 25 year old man of Lancaster, Ohio, Shane K. Mehic lost his life. Reports from the ODPS are that the man was driving a 2002 Toyota CST midsize car, north on County Route 51. He allegedly lost control of the car which went off the right side of the roadway where it went into a wooded area, struck an embankment, a stream and some trees. He was transported by the Coroner’s Office to Fairfield Medical. Midwest towed the car.
