13 Year Old Girls Injured in Lawrence, Ohio, Crash

Two 13 year old girls were injured in a crash which saw a driver going left of the center of the roadway in Windsor, Lawrence, Ohio, on October 6, 2013 at approximately 7:00 pm. Reports from the OSHP are that a 63 year old woman, Imogene Holley of Chesapeake, Ohio, was driving a 2005 Kia Sorrento SUV south on County Route 2. A 1998 Honda Civic compact car that was being driven by a 33 year old man of Scottown, Ohio, was headed north on the same road. The driver allegedly drove left of the center of the roadway and struck the Kia. The driver of the Honda was charged. Both girls, Haley A. Ross 13, and Hanna K. Kearns 13, who were occupants of the Kia were transported by LCEMS to St. Mary’s. Mark Johnson towed the Kia and Jerry Johnson towed the Honda.

The accident involved a SUV; in Ohio in 2010 there were 22,261 for sport utility vehicles which resulted in injuries. Windsor, Lawrence, Ohio, whose population in 2011 was 2,127, suffered 16 injury crashes, which resulted in 20 injuries. Accidents which involved sideswiping in the opposite direction and which caused injuries amounted to 1,078. Sub compact vehicles which were involved in injury crashes in 2010 amounted to 1,120. Drivers drove left of the center of the road in 2010 in 1,541 injury crashes.
